Overview
A healthy food subscription service that aims to provide
people
with quality nutrition and healthier lifestyles.
Aim is to create a simpler subscription process to increase conversion rates and provide users with an all-encompassing Mobile application to manage subscriptions.
Challenges
Addressing these key challenges was crucial to create a platform for the target audience:
Tedious registration process exclusively done through phonecalls.
Missing a consistent digital space to showcase meals.
Inability to customize food selections on a daily basis.
Inability to view and manage subscription status.
My Role
After Setting the goals I established my role in the project as the following:
Tools Used
Problem Solved!
The target audience's concerns were successfully addressed and used as a framework for the final visual design.
Registration
Eliminated registration through phonecalls. Users can easily register directly on the app by entering their health information, allergies, and food dislikes. Users can also choose between different subscription tiers as Numou offers multiple meal plans to suit different needs.
Consultation with a dietician
Included the option to contact a dietician in case users require guidance. Once selected, a call will be scheduled with a dietician to help the user choose the most suitable subscription and complete the registration process.
Dashboard
Implemented dashboards to showcase all the meals available for users to choose from throughout their subscription periods. Users are able to choose their daily meals for the entire subscription period all at once or 48 hours before each day. The dashboard changes daily to reflect the meals selected. Descriptions and nutritional information are displayed for every meal available.
Calendar
Included calendars so users can easily view and manage the status of their subscriptions. Users are able to pause as many days as needed 48 hours before the start of each day. Restarting days follows the same process.
E-commerce store
Created an E-commerce store for the company to showcase and sell their merchandise to subscribers. Focused on creating an integrated and easily accessible store that supplements users subscriptions and increases product sales.
Design Process
Addressing these key challenges was crucial for creating the right product for the target audience:
Interviews
Conducted interviews with various members of the company’s team to study the project’s requirements from different angles. The company’s dietician provided insight regarding the nutritional needs, priorities, and concerns of users. Whereas the marketing team provided information regarding competitors and users preferences when it comes to managing subscriptions and interacting with a food service platform. The team also requested an E-commerce based shop within the application and website to sell merchandise and food items.
Identifying Personas
Identifying User Pain Points
Lengthy Onboarding
Users found registration calls to be tedious and lengthy. They expressed the need for a faster and simpler registration process.
Food Menus are hard to acquire
Users felt like there was no clear way of viewing the meals offered by the company. Pictures of the meals offered were only posted on the company’s social media accounts with limited descriptions and nutritional information.
No Subscription Management
Users found it difficult to follow the status of their subscriptions as there was no visual way to view their remaining days. Users had to call in order to pause and restart days, a process they found bothersome.
Market Research
Studied local and global competitors in the healthy food subscription field (such as DietStation and HelloFresh). Noted the pros and cons of each service and devised plans to solve common problems.
